Touhou Seimoe 2007: Group C Tournament Group Stage

No post yesterday since there wasn’t much to vote for; Reimu slaughtered the competition as usual. But I’ve got to muster some form of support this time around seeing how it’s Marisa that’s at stake here, so get on down and vote for her already. While Touhou without Reimu isn’t Touhou anymore, the same could be said of the good ol’ black and white magician.

I have a confession to make. Marisa was my first: by first I mean like character played in the series of Windows games, seeing how I didn’t really like Reimu as a character all that much. Marisa seemed a lot cooler and less easy to play, what with her Master Spark, straight (and somewhat more powerful) lasers, and slight advantage when it came to boss fights.

the ridiculous amount of pictures (2.7K) and the fact most of them have Alice in it means that the selection is somewhat risque; details after the cut

The doujins that I read later probably endeared me to her further. If there was one thing I could fault about doujins in general, it’d be that the characters take on the aspect that’s shown to the player in the games (the games being canon and whatnot, books and supplementary literature aside), turning the inhabitants of Gensokyo into something more colourful than what you’d get in your normal game cast; Marisa, with her kleptomaniac tendencies and devil-may-care attitude, is no different.

It doesn’t help that she’s often paired with Alice, which makes for hilarious, if somewhat predictable couple dynamics. Or maybe I just have a weakness for feisty blondes. Oh, and I guess this is going to be a talk-about-Touhou-characters daily thing since I haven’t really posted about Touhou that much in ages either, so yeah.

Again, don’t forget to vote for Marisa. Cirno’s good and all, but I like characters who don’t have a mental age of 9 (pun intended). Patchy is overrated. Kaguya can go kill herself (I’m so witty). Maybe spare a thought for Rinnosuke or something, poor guy. I cast my vote for him out of the sheer awesomeness that is Sexy Beam, but a Lily could have been fine too, if it wasn’t for all that spring heralding she does on a regular basis.
